EOV Turns 1
On Saturday, May 15th our brick & mortar turns 1! I both can and cannot believe it's already been that long, and all during a pandemic no less. Our first anniversary brings so many emotions and memories. We are so thankful for each and every one of you that have walked through those doors, and as much for those of you that supported from afar. And I am so gracious to have the opportunity to do what I love. We have had EOV around longer than just one year, we started this little business as a hobby in 2014, and year by year the passion grew. In 2019 we really dove in to make EOV 'legit' if you will, and started a fashion truck, as short and sweet as that was, it prepared us for where we are today.
When we first opened the storefront, our hours were by appointment only, as the initial lockdown of the pandemic was just ending. Having that 'soft opening' gave me a chance to get a feel for our local customers, and gave us all a chance to dip our toes back into outside world. Thinking back on that, it makes me hopeful that we've created a space for people to come by, browse around, have a chat, and feel safe. Helping make you feel comfortable is our highest priority.
We've learned so much in one year, and continue to do so everyday. Running a small business is no joke! I've experienced burnout, exhaustion, pride, and happiness, like I've never felt before. Even more importantly, I've been witness to joy, sadness, love, and a lot of laughter through the many conversations and story telling that takes place within our four walls. And that alone is reason enough to continue, and so we've renewed our lease for another year (one year at a time during a pandemic is a safe bet).
Yes, in all honesty, this year has been tough. Financially. We had originally been thought to open up shop into a pre-pandemic world, who was to know at the time what we were walking into. And every penny of (very minimal) profit is turned right back around to go into the business. Sourcing inventory, paying bills, buying supplies, all of the day to day things that cost money. I've had moments of doubt, and a mindset of lack from time to time, yet you guys continue to show up. I can't thank you all enough for that. You accepted me into this community, and welcomed me with open arms.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We hope you'll join us this Saturday, May 15th in store if you are local, and on Instagram if you are not. We'll be celebrating!
